school in Kharkiv,
D. A. Rozhanskyi

The School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems has existed since 1952. Until 2014, the School was known as the School of Radiophysics. The Kharkiv School of Radiophysicists owes its creation to Professor D. A. Rozhanskyi, who taught at Kharkiv University in 1911–1921 (later — Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences), and to his student A. A. Slutskin (inventor of magnetron and radar, later — Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

Graduation of students of the School

Today, the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems offers Bachelor’s degree programs in the following majors: 105 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials (educational program "Radiophysics, Electronics and Biophysics") and 153 Micro- and Nanosystems Physics (educational program "Micro- and Nanosystems Engineering"), and Master’s programs in 105 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials (educational programs "Radiophysics and Electronics” and “Biophysics") and 153 Micro- and Nanosystems Physics (educational program "Physical and Biomedical Electronics"). Our graduates are specialists in the following fields: theoretical and computer radiophysics; quantum radiophysics; radiophysical measurements; physical and biomedical electronics and complex information technologies; ultrahigh frequency physics; space radiophysics; radio astronomy; antennas and radio wave propagation, and also in biological physics and medical biophysics. The duration of study is 4 years for a Bachelor’s degree, and 1.5 years for a Master’s degree.

Among the School’s graduates are 39 winners of the State Prize in Science and Technology, 7 academicians and 7 corresponding members of the NAS of Ukraine, more than 120 doctors of sciences and over 600 PhDs, directors and leading specialists of academic institutes, research centers, enterprises, and institutions of higher education, and also well-known businessmen.
