Department of obstetrics and gynaecology

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a separate unit of the medical faculty has existed from 9/12/2008. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been allocated from the department of pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology which existed since the restoration of the teaching of medicine at the Kharkiv National University named V.N. Karazin. Education Department consists of 8 teaching general courses: obstetrics and gynecology, pharmacology, physical rehabilitation and sports medicine, radiology, nuclear medicine, medical psychology, medical history, the foundations of psychology and pedagogy and 2 elective courses: family planning for students for 5 year students and perinatology for 6 year studets. Lectures at the department are using multimedia equipment implemented in the Power Point program. The department has its own development of teaching materials for all teaching courses. Faculty constantly creates and uses in the electronic versions of educational materials and methodical process. Constantly update the software of computer classes is to improve control of knowledge. It was created materials for the transition to writing and a combined form of control in all disciplines. It was performed the development and implementation of computer version of the modular test control of individual subjects. The department maintains relationships with the previous students to identify the quality of professional training of doctors. The employees of the department continue their postgraduate education graduates in the internship for obstetrics and gynecology and family medicine at the Department of Perinatology and Gynecology HMAPO. All graduates continue their education in the internship based on HMAPO. The Department conducted scientific research work on the topics: "Family planning and reproductive health, "Study of the pathogenetic action factors of reproductive system damaged woman on the structure of the perinatal loss ", " The value of connective tissue dysfunction in preeclampsia and methods of its correction "," Role of changes in autonomic function in the fetal responses of the mother in the III trimester of pregnancy”. Research & Development Department carries out in collaboration with the National Pharmaceutical Academy of Ukraine, Institute of Pathology of the spine and joints naned Sitenko Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The department is based on municipal maternal house with neonatological clinic. Our clinic provides the entire spectrum of surgical interventions in obstetrics and gynecology. Our clinic became the first of which went to provide obstetric modern technology and given the title of the clinic with friendly attitude towards the child. Faculty constantly perform most medical - advisory work on a clinical basis. Research team aims to develop new methods of diagnosis and treatment most often complications of pregnancy and some forms of gynecological pathology. It continues a study on the pathogenesis and treatment of anemia in pregnant women, especially of pregnant women with uterine-efficient infection (gonorrhea, colpitis, polyhydramnion et al.)

Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Faculty of Kharkov National University and head of Perinatology and Gynecology Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Gryshchenko Olga Valentinovna MD, professor, member of Ukrainian Academy of Technological Sciences. O. V. Gryshchenko has a scientific degree of Doctor of Medicine from 1992. She has published over 250 scientific and methodological works. Since 1994 O. V. Gryshchenko - Head of the Department of Perinatology and Gynecology HMAPO and a Dean of the pediatric Faculty of the Academy. From 1995she has combined work in HMAPO with the course of obstetrics and gynecology at the Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Kharkov National University named V.N. Karazin. After the reorganization of the faculty and the creation of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2008 she was elected a head of department. O. V. Gryshchenko has general experience of scientific work about 30 years. Professor O. V. Gryshchenko is a leading scientist in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Her research has scientific and practical importance. Active scientific and methodical work of O. V. Gryshchenko leads from reproductive health problems and modern methods of contraception. It is one of the authors of national guidelines on family planning: "Oral hormonal contraceptives", "Training Course on postabortional and postnatal and family planning" (manual for teachers). Under the leadership of O.V. Gryshchenko made 1 doctor's and 20 master's theses defended, 5 competitors continue to work. She has developed and implemented in practice new methods of diagnosis and treatment of these common types of pathology: a fetoplacental insufficiency, anemia of pregnancy, intrauterine infection, the use of laser surgery in gynecology, which helped to reduce perinatal morbidity and mortality. The results are reported at congresses, conferences, international symposia both in Ukraine and abroad. O. V. Gryshchenko is a member of the Specialized Surgical KhSMU Council for the Protection of theses. In 1998 she was elected a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Technology in the Department of Medical modern technology. Since 1998 she led the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Family Planning Association, and in 2001 elected its President. In 2000 was elected regional vice president of assotiation of children's gynecology. Gryshchenko O.V. participated in the drafting industry standards of outpatient and in-patient obstetric and gynecological profile. She combines educational activity with the clinical work in a municipal maternity hospital with neonatological clinic. She participates in clinical analysis, and participates in meetings of the Commission for consideration of perinatal mortality and medical meetings.

Storchak Anna Vadimovna - MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Faculty of Kharkov National University. G. V. Storchak has 10 years experience teaching. Storchak G.V. graduated from medical faculty of the Kharkiv State Medical University in 1996. She has graduated from the internship and master's courses at the Department of Perinatology and Gynecology HMAPO. In 2000 he defended his thesis. Since 1999 she teaches students on obstetrics and gynecology at the department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since 2003 G. V. Storchak has been working as assistant professor of pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and after the restructuring - at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2005 he became a vice-professor. She has published over 120 scientific and methodological works. including methodological recommendations approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. G.V. Storchak constantly raises the level of teacher skills and conducts research results are implemented in the teaching process of the department. She has participated in professional congresses and conferences at various levels. Educational activity combines with the clinical work in a municipal maternity hospital with clinical neonatological clinic. She conducts supervision of patients participating in clinical analysis, duties, participates in meetings of the Commission for consideration of perinatal mortality and medical meetings. Conducts training of medical personnel of medical institutions to new diagnostic techniques. G. V. Storchak regularly upgrades the skills. In 2009 Storchak G.V. assigned higher qualification category of obstetrics and gynecology. Since 2007 actively participated in international educational project "Together for Health". G.V. Storchak is a national expert on family planning and reproductive health.
