“MultiEd” project

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University became a partner of the KA2 project "Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Multilingual Education and European Integration (MultiEd)" within the Erasmus+ program

Project duration: 15.11.2019–14.11.2022

Priorities: education (curriculum of teacher of foreign languages development and introduction of new teaching methods in the educational process), internationalization, lifelong learning.

Project stages:

  1. Updating BA and MA curricula in the field of Education (English language) based on the European Qualifications Framework. Developing recommendations for the topics and subjects of the curricula both in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and EU standards;
  2. adapting and implementing advanced methods of teaching foreign languages in the educational process in Ukraine, including interactive methods, student-centered learning, communication methods, CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and updating the curricula subjects by introducing these methods;
  3. universities introduce elective courses in English for BA, MA, PhD students, including “Introduction to CLIL Methodology”, “CLIL Methodology”, “Foreign Language Teaching”, “Cultural Anthropology and Linguistic Diversity”, “Research and Academic Writing”, “Media Literacy”;
  4. universities develop their own strategy for multilingual education and offer students certain subjects in English in order to train highly qualified graduates who are fluent in English and to increase the level of internationalization of partner universities and the potential of higher education in general;
  5. embedding the ideas of blended education and life-long learning among academic and professional staff, which will be provided by free seminars with the participation of European experts in different regions of Ukraine, as well as the development of an e-course for teachers to improve their skills in “CLIL Methodology”.
