Opening of the exhibition "Our in Antarctica"
Opening of the exhibition "Our in Antarctica" dedicated to the 15 th anniversary of Ukrainian Antarctic station "Academician Vernadsky" took place at the University Museum of History. The event caused great interest of the university community. Students of different schools, professors and staff of the university visited the museum. Ye.P. Puhach, CEO of the museum complex opened the exhibition. Scientists of the University, members of Antarctic expeditions - biologists A.Yu. Utevskyy and H.O. Shandykov, radiophysicist K.P. Harmash reported about the history of university Antarctic research and the results of their scientific achievements.
After the official part one could enjoy the unique collection of photographs of Antarctica, clothing and personal belongings of the polar explorers, equipment for scientific research, journalistic material, as well as ask questions to researchers, who conquered and "were themselves conquered" by the magic world of Antarctica.
The exhibition at the University Museum of History will work till October 28, 2011.
