The courses consist: Informational literacy in public communication; Capacity of the media and civil society; Public communication strategies: interdisciplinary approach; Public communication in the EU; Communication practices in building Government-Public Partnership, to only name a few. All the subjects are taught in English.
At the end of a lecture course you will travel to Lithuania (Vilnius) to gain practical experience, to observe the work of local media and to get familiar with Transparency International Chapter where you will be able to finish your personal project.
The best students work will be published at Studies of Changing Societies Journal. SCS Journal is included in DOAJ, DIALNET, ULRICHWEB, SCIENCE INDEX, Globethics. net, CIAO PИНЦ etc. and is an excellent outlet to publish individual research projects and to share the ideas with scientific audience.
ACCOMMODATION You will be accommodated in home stay, giving you a chance to practice your Russian in day-to-day situations and experience life in a Russian/Ukrainian household. This part of the summer school is really about being immersed in the foreign culture. Breakfast and dinner are included. You will be absorbed in Slavic hospitality and a friendly environment. The home stays are within the walking distance or 20 minutes by public transportation. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AND FIELD TRIPS You will have walking trips around the city with various theme topics to choose from. Weekend day trips around Kharkov area will be included and you will be blown away by the spectacular Slavic ancient traditions that you might be part of. EXCURSIONS
CREDITS V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is a fully accredited university in Kharkiv, Ukraine. All credits should be transferrable towards your degree in your college or university. Students are encouraged to check with their academic advisor and/or the Registrar’s Office to find out more about their school’s credit transfer policies. The programs outlines are available on our website. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University mails official transcripts to your school of record upon the completion of the program. SYLLABUS DATES OF THE PROGRAM 8 weeks program start date is June 2, the end of the program is July 26. For the short stay in Ukraine the students do not require to have a visa.
